Community and Giving Back is part of us
Long before the creation of Daily Cycle AVL we were involved in our community and were committed to giving back.
Sarah has been a Tour de Pink fundraiser, rider, and ride marshall for 10 years. Her family has been deeply touched by breast cancer. Raising critical funds for young women affected by breast cancer and putting in miles to support the breast cancer community is a big part of who Sarah is.
As a family and as a business we’re committed to supporting the following organizations:
Blue Ridge Dirt Skrrts – Blue Ridge Dirt Skrrts are an inclusive non-profit organization dedicated to breaking down barriers by getting women across WNC on mountain bikes!
We have both enjoyed training and riding in a variety of local charity rides also, including MS150, Assault on Mount Michell, the WNC Flyer since it’s been the Fletcher Flyer, and the Assault on the Carolinas.
We are looking forward to building relationships with and supporting other bike groups in the area!
Where are we?
City Market days: July 8 and 29, August 5 and 19, September 2, 16, 30 (bonus weekend! 😁), October 14, 28, November 4
Current dates: 7/16/23, 9/10/23
We also teach mechanic classes, both women’s only and co-ed classes. So far, these have been ~ 6 hr of instruction, with homemade lunch provided and a maximum class size is 5.
We cover basic bike fit, inspection and cleaning in the stand, review adjusting gears/lubrication/tuning/tensioning, removal and installation of drivetrain components, brake work, setting up suspension, and lots more. You work on your own bike in the afternoon!
